This year's theme for the Beaver Craft Day was Pirates. Everyone was divided into teams to take part in the fun. This included, making a large three dimensional (3D) Pirate Island. It was all hands on deck as all members of each team helped to create their team's island. Although you might not expect it from the half-finished 3rd Stoneleigh island pictured here, our end result looked wonderful.Other activities were creating Treasure Maps and making parrots to go in a Parrot Tree. Long John Silver would have been pleased as punch at the results.
One small problem loomed on the skyline as Mole discovered there was an unexpected £40 fee to pay for 3rd Stoneleigh's attendance and she lacked the Pieces of Eight to pay. Luckily, her reknowned resourcefulness came to the fore and she and her team began selling coffee and cakes and held an 'on the spot' raffle. Business was so brisk, they easily covered the entrance fee!
