Nothing Like I Expected - The Best I've Been On
Nothing Like I Expected
For my first scout camp (24-30 July) it was really a good one. It was nothing like I expected it to be. I thought we would stay at the campsite and do stuff there. Just playing football and table tennis, but we got to go on an assault course on ground and in the air; we got to go to Water World and we went to Pizza Hut. We were planning to go on a Ghost Walk, but it was too wet. We went climbing on a steep hill, and also went caving. We went rifle shooting as well; we went Go-Karting. We went to a railway museum and a coal museum. We also did archery; when we got there we made our sleeping tents and our cooking tents. I found out my favourite food is cooked gammon. I had my finger bent back, but it was just bruised, not broken. - Patrick Draper
The Best I've Been On
On the Friday we had to load all our personal belongings on the van which would travel overnight and meet us in the morning. We traveled for four hours and when we got there we unpacked everything, then put up our sleeping tents...and then put up our dinner tent. (This would all go towards the points that all the patrols got, and whoever got the most won something.) Once everything had been set up we choose our patrol names: there was Gryffindor, Slytherin, and Hufflepuff. After that we did the assault course. Then on Sunday we went rafting. That was fun. On Monday we went to the National Coal Mining Museum. I can't remember very much; it was so jam-packed and all full of fun; but what I do remember - going Go-Karting. That was my all favourite thing we did on the trip. This is my third scout camp, and I would have to say it has been the best I've been on. - Elliot Draper
