DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

As many of you are new to the Troop I thought I should write to you to let you know some of the activities that the Troop has available to it outside of Tuesday evenings.

DISTRICT/COUNTY EVENTS

These activities are organised by the leader team of either the District (Epsom & Ewell) or the County (Surrey). I have set out below some of the activities that you may be interested in and the possible dates. Please be aware that I haven't yet received my information pack from the District so the dates of some of these events may vary and some events may not be offered this year.

In addition, in previous years, the District has run badge courses which they may well run again in 2008. These are a series of training courses which will allow the Scouts to obtain some of the Activity Badges that are more difficult to obtain either individually or through Troop activities. Previously these have been arranged for Wednesday evenings and each course has lasted for 6 consecutive weeks. Attendees need to be present at all sessions in order to acquire the badge. The courses that have been run previously are:
Activity Date
Fire Safety Badge During April/May
Pioneering Badge During May/June
Canoeist Badge During May/June
Again, more details will be available once I receive them in the new year.
CAMPS
As a Troop we try to run as many camps as possible and next year will be no exception. In addition to the week long Summer Camp, there is also the opportunity to attend four weekend camps; District Training Camp, May Day Camp, Scoutabout and of course the Group Camp in September. All of these camps should be great fun and each offers
