Bazzaz 2009

Beaver Scouts from all over Surrey came together on Saturday 13th June to enjoy BAZZAZ 2009, an exciting day of fun filled activities based on a circus theme.

The sun shone as over 1750 Beaver Scouts, together with their leaders, streamed into Cranleigh Showground ready for a non-stop day of fun.

Over one hundred activities were on site and Beaver Scouts had the opportunity to try out new activities such as climbing, caving, low ropes and quad bikes, as well as learning circus skills. During the day each Beaver Scout also had the opportunity to watch a fun circus performance in the big top, a first visit to the circus for many Beavers!

Scout Leaders and Scout Fellowships from all over Surrey supported the event by organising a huge range of activities, including many traditional Scouting skills, such as making dough twists, pioneering and woggle making.

At the end of the day, just as everyone was getting rather hot, Cranleigh Fire Brigade discharged their water hoses over hundreds of Beaver Scouts cooling everyone down to great squeals of delight!

One young Beaver Scout was overheard telling his leader that he ‘had the best day ever, even better than Florida and Italy.’ Praise indeed!

Another truly memorable day for Surrey County Beaver Scouts!

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make BAZZAZ 2009 such a success.

We are looking forward to BAZZAZ 2012 already!
